Behind the Scenes of a Private Chef: More Than a Profession, a Passion

When you hire a private chef, you usually picture the moment when beautifully plated dishes arrive at the table. Yet what you see is only a small part of the work.

Behind every private dinner, wedding or celebration lies hours of planning, preparation and, above all, a genuine desire to create an unforgettable experience.

A Passion That Started Early

Cooking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I grew up in Provence, surrounded by Mediterranean flavours and family recipes. From an early age, I discovered the joy of cooking alongside my grandmother. Looking back, that's probably where everything began.

It wasn't simply about following recipes.

It was about sharing, passing on traditions and bringing people together around a table.

To this day, this philosophy continues to inspire every event I create.

A Culinary Journey Built Through Experience

Before becoming a private chef, I had the privilege of working in several fine dining restaurants and luxury hotels in both France and Switzerland.

These experiences taught me discipline, precision and the importance of every single detail. They also allowed me to develop a cuisine based on respect for exceptional ingredients and a constant pursuit of balance and elegance.

A few years later, I fulfilled another dream by opening my own restaurant, Moris, in the beautiful village of Cucuron.

For three wonderful years, this adventure gave me the opportunity to express my own culinary identity, build lasting relationships with my guests and confirm one simple belief:

What I love most isn't simply cooking — it's creating emotions.

Today, working as a private chef allows me to reconnect with that personal relationship while giving me the freedom to design every experience from scratch.

Every Experience Begins Long Before the Event

Many people imagine that my work starts when I step into the kitchen.

In reality, it begins several days before.

Every event starts with a conversation.

I take the time to understand:

  • the occasion being celebrated;

  • my guests' culinary preferences;

  • any allergies or dietary requirements;

  • the atmosphere they wish to create;

  • the venue itself.

This is what enables me to design a truly bespoke menu.

Rather than offering a fixed menu, I prefer to create an experience that reflects each client and every occasion.

Choosing the Finest Ingredients

I firmly believe that exceptional cuisine begins with exceptional ingredients.

Seasonality plays a central role in my cooking and, whenever possible, I work with local producers.

The markets of Provence, local farmers, artisans and producers from the Luberon are an endless source of inspiration.

Using fresh, seasonal ingredients isn't a trend for me—it's simply the obvious choice.

Not only does it respect nature's rhythm, but it also allows every ingredient to express its true flavour.

On the Day of the Event

Once I arrive at the venue, every minute matters.

I carefully organise my workspace and prepare every element with precision.

My goal is for my clients to enjoy their day without having to think about the meal or the logistics behind it.

Everything should feel effortless.

Throughout the service, I remain attentive to the rhythm of the event, the atmosphere around the table and every detail that contributes to creating a seamless experience.

What I Love Most About This Profession

Of course, I love cooking.

But what truly inspires me are the people I meet.

Every wedding, every private dinner and every celebration tells a different story.

I have the privilege of being part of some of life's most meaningful moments.

A wedding anniversary.

A family reunion.

A holiday shared with friends.

I never take that trust for granted.

Every event represents both a responsibility and an honour.

Being a Private Chef Means Adapting

Unlike a restaurant, no two events are ever the same.

Every kitchen is different.

Every home has its own challenges.

Every celebration has its own rhythm.

And that's precisely what I love.

This profession requires creativity, organisation and adaptability.

That's what makes it so rewarding.

More Than a Meal — A Lasting Memory

Once the last guests have left and the kitchen has been completely cleaned, there is often a quiet moment to reflect.

It is usually then that my clients say:

"We truly had a wonderful evening."

Those words are undoubtedly the greatest reward.

Because, in the end, my job isn't simply to prepare a meal.

It's to create a lasting memory.

Thank You for Your Trust

Whether it's an intimate dinner, a wedding, a birthday celebration or a reception in a beautiful villa in the Luberon, I approach every event with the same passion, dedication and attention to detail.

I feel incredibly fortunate to do what I love, and I am grateful every day for the trust my clients place in me.

I hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you around my table one day and sharing with you something far more meaningful than simply a meal.

An experience you'll remember.

See you soon.
